2025-2030
Vision & Strategic Plan

Building on our 2019-2024 Stetegic Plan which saw the opening the Pineview Community Hub, with 217 community bookings and 482 hours of usage, over 50 community events, and advocacy that helped us get better lighting under the LRT bridge, a safer design for Blair Road, revitalized rink & baskeball court at Vanessa Gilles Park, traffic calming along Maxime, more speed boards throughout the community and better winter snow clearing we are pleased to share the Pineview Community Association 2025-2030 Vision and Strategic Plan;

Pineview Community Association's
2025 - 2030 Vision and Strategic Plan

Our Purpose | Raison d'etre for the Association
Pineview Community Association is all about Connecting the Community, Making Space & Hosting events for these Connections, developing full programming at the Pineview Community Hub, and increasing our Communications to inform residents about our programing, governement programs, engagement opportunities, and advocating for our beloved Neighbourhood Features.

Our Pillars for the next 5 years;

1) Advocate & MaintainOur first pillar is about preserving what matters to Pineview and building on those priorities.
Short-Term Goals: Develop a local business attraction plan.
Mid-Term Goals: Install permanent signage, Strengthen stakeholder partnerships, & Expand cycling network links.
Long-Term Goals: Preserve The Farm, Establish a dedicated dog park, Upgrade or build a new Hub.

2) Hub & Local ProgrammingThis pillar focuses on activating our spaces and expanding what works.
Short-Term Goals: yoga and game nights ✅
Install secure key access to The Hub - volunteer issue.

Mid-Term Goals: Grow partner-led programs: movie nights, nature activities, playgroups, Start or encourage run/hike/bike groups.
Long-Term Goals: Secure larger venues to support growing programming and ensure accessibility for all.

3) Inclusive EventsThis is about creating events that reflect our diverse community.
Short-Term Goals: Build a strong volunteer base, Host more business and older adult engagement events. Launch seasonal gatherings: farmers’ market, winter carnival.
Mid-Term Goals: Offer more youth and adult-focused programming, Pilot cultural events like Shakespeare in the Park, Indigenous led activities, others?
Long-Term Goals: Increase event frequency, Expand traditions and launch major festivals that bring us all together.

4) Robust CommunicationIf we’re not connected, we can’t grow together. This pillar is about clear, accessible, and real-time communication.
Short-Term Goals: Create digital engagement platforms: WhatsApp or Facebook groups - Automate Hub bookings - Promote local businesses.
Mid-Term Goals: Launch SMS outreach with segmented lists to ensure personalized and inclusive communication.

5)
Operations & Governance
Behind every great community initiative is a strong backbone. This pillar ensures we have the structure to succeed.
Short-Term Goals: Build an emergency plan - Launch a sustainable fundraising strategy - Train board members - Install temporary signage at The Hub.
Mid-Term Goals: Invest in assets like projectors and sound systems - Streamline internal processes with governance tools, email roles, and checklists.

With thanks to former board member Chaid Lenesis 2016-17 Consultation Director & 2019-24 Startegic Plan Director,  & Heather Scott our Presidet for the last Decade who’s vision of an accessible community space allows us to be here today.
